The partnership aims to mainstream public social partnership models and new approaches to procurement practice. Proposed activities under this theme include:

To disseminate the results of testing alternative rotes to procurement through public-social partnership (PSP) models for delivering public services by:

  • Organising 3 procurement round table events to disseminate results of the all pilot work tested: PSP, consortia development and procurement practice (Autumn 07)
  • Dissemination of PSP lessons learned/ ‘how to develop ‘consortia’ report (August 07)

To demonstrate influencing of procurement practices in Scotland via a “Practice Model tender guide” by: (by September 07)

 

  • Working with a Registered Social Landlord to explore the potential to incorporate social and environmental clauses into tenders and dissemiante the opportunities this offers to both social enterprises/social firms and other procurement officers
  • Focus groups with key representatives from RSLs. (May 07)

 

Learning Point briefing on social economy cluster development in areas of market opportunity (from August 07)

 

To demonstrate an impact on the procurement agenda through building relationships with procurement officers and influencing procurement practice by:

 

  • Producing and disseminating “New approaches to Procurement” report (September 07)
  • Organising a Procurement Colloquium and record discussions and good practice examples (October 07)
  • Organising a series of training/information events aimed at public sector procurement officers. (November 07)
