EQUAL is the Community Initiative which aims to promote new ways of combating all forms of discrimination and inequalities in relation in relation to the labour market through transnational co-operation.
In Scotland, EQUAL is being implemented through Development Partnerships which are based on 7 thematic priorities. Social Economy Scotland is under Theme D – Strengthening the Social Economy.
Equal is delivered through 3 Actions:
Action 1 is the Development Phase and activity is developed Action 2 is the Delivery Phase of activity Action 3 is the Dissemination and Mainstreaming Phase.
There are two Rounds of this initiative with Round 1 ending in May 2005. Round 2, the final round began in July 2005 and will end in March 2008.
Mainstreaming strategy autumn 2006 - March 08
The purpose of our mainstreaming strategy is to ensure that learning from pilot activities supported under our thematic priorities, which are designed to address the key issues inhibiting the growth of the social economy in Scotland, are disseminated to our target audiences and taken forward into policy and practice to ensure a more sustainable, enterprising and valued social economy in Scotland.
We will also draw on our results at GB and transnational levels to enhance our national policy messages and encourage early adoption and successful mainstreaming of the partnership’s results.
